Exploring the Chakras: Sacral Chakra
The sacral chakra is in the lower abdomen, just below the tailbone. With its close proximity to the pelvis and reproductive organs it is associated with pleasure, sensuality, connection, and intimacy. This chakra affects how we relate to other people and a balanced sacral chakra aids us in creating healthy boundaries in our interpersonal relationships.
This second chakras color is orange and is connected to the element Water. Water is often used as a symbol to represent emotions and thus it is no surprise that this chakra is invites the flow emotion, streams of creativity and artistic vision.
When this chakra is out of balance or blocked, we sometimes see:
↠ Sexual and reproductive dysfunction
↠ Menstrual difficulties (PMS, painful cramps, very uncomfortable menopause)
↠ Poor social skills
↠ Obsessive behaviour
↠ Mood swings
↠ Issues with co-dependency
When properly balanced and active, we see people who are:
